UNISDR thanks participation of disability networks in Cancun
Kirsi Madi, Director of UNISDR, had two meetings with groups of people with disabilities participating in the Global DRR Platform in Cancun, among which were the risk-inclusive management networks of Asia-Pacific and Latin America and the Caribbean.
These meetings served to exchange perspectives that help to improve accessibility in events of this type and to promote the necessary inclusive risk management and participation in the risk management processes of people with disabilities. Below the letter of thanks from Mrs. Kirsi Madi to Carlos Kaiser and the other colleagues of the GIRDD network for their participation in the event.
The participation of people with disabilities in Cancun was extensive. And it was also supported by technology, by the robots of the Nippon Foundation that facilitated the participation of people with disabilities from their homes.
