INCLUSIVE MANAGEMENT OF DISASTER RISK

Disaster Risk and Disability Inclusive Management (GRIDD) is the application of policies and strategies for disaster risk reduction, with the purpose of preventing new disaster risks (prospective disaster risk management), reducing the risks of existing disasters (corrective management of disaster risk) and manage residual risk, which can not be effectively reduced and that includes preparedness, response and recovery activities (compensatory disaster risk management), considering the needs and participation of people with disability with the same priority level as the whole population, and in full accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
